PKN Group of Schools are in the field of education since 1909. It has spread its branches to Madurai, Dindugal also. Altogether 11 institutions are under the name of PKN which includes Nursery & Primary Schools, Boys School (Aided), Girls School (Aided), Matric Schools, College, and CBSE School.

M.T. PKN Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Pasumalai - Madurai was started in the year 1991 in the “Temple city” Madurai at Madurai Melapettai Uravinmurai near Vilakkuthoon.

The school was shifted to Green Pasumalai hills in the year 1995. Since then the institution is doing Yemen service to the society. This school was founded by the philanthropists of Thirumangalam to serve the people around Pasumalai to give quality education at a nominal fee.

The school has a sprawling campus situated in Sylvan surroundings Pasumalai. M.T. PKN Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Pasumalai - Madurai is considered “the best” for discipline and academics. School has achieved a centum result in X std Board Examinations continuously for many years.

In 2019-2020 the school has been upgraded as “Higher Secondary" with Science and Arts groups.

The school is intent upon developing a new technique in education, a method for drawing out the talents in the child. This would be achieved through the promotion of creative activities encouraged by the teachers fostered with love and kindness. In addition to the instruction of the three R’s, the school is concerned with three C’s of a real education, Culture, Creativity, and Comradeship. To help the children to develop the love for learning, Edac-Curriculum is introduced which helps the teachers to engage and excite the child, discover and document their work, assimilate, analyze and apply the concept and consolidate, constructive and creative ideas in their learning. Children are trained in the following co-curricular activities like music, classical dance, western dance, keyboard, silambam, karate, traditional games, craft, chess and carrom board, scouts and guides.

Continuously we are securing 100% result X and X1 std public examination. Selvi. S.Keerthiga of X std had achieved 460 out of 500 in the X std public examination. Selvan. P.Dharshan Kumar of X1 std had achieved 478 out of 600 in the X1 std public examination and he scored 93 marks in Chemistry.

Uravinmurai has purchased a land 25kms away from Madurai, South (Virathanoor) and in that, we have a plan to start a school with CBSE Curriculum.

We already have 11 Co-curricular activities like Music, Dance, Karate, Western dance, Silambam, Traditional games, Chess, Carrom board, Keyboard, Scouts & guides etc. We have plans to add some more Co-curricular activities like photography, gymnastics and skating. We also have a plan to include Robotics in our Curriculum to develop our students to compete with present situations.
